"Bloodhound" dog painting at the Corinium Museum June 21 2013
The new Cotswold Open Studios group artist exhibition is in process of being hung at the Corinium Museum, and I can't wait to see my bloodhound painting in amongst all the other artwork - and to celebrate... a new print release of the portrait!
A little about the piece... I wanted to give a sense of grandeur to such a beautiful breed of dog. The bloodhound is often depicted in art history, Landeer, Maud Earl, this portrait is 90x90cm oil on canvas. Monumental, but with a sense of vulnerability, we can only guess what this hound is thinking. He almost looks ethereal with a slight glow of around him. I fell for him, hook, line and sinker!
